SPC (FTP/FTE) Course has been held, September 16 to 17
On September 16th and 17th, NSTC held a special course for Fixed Wing flight crew (FTP/FTE).
During this course, we were able to cover Basic First Aid, Self-Rescue (Smoke Escape) from a smoke filled aircraft, Water Ditching procedures and Basic Sea Survival.
It was a very productive training with a group of enthusiastic delegates.
It was wonderful to see the group come together as a team!
Group Huddle and the merits of group survival
Group survival and electing a leader for liferaft operations
Teamwork in any survival situation is extremely important. Group dynamics can make or break the chain of survival.
It is important that the group is well organized and all suggestions and advice is shared between all members, this is vital for the group to adapt to the situation.
Our group of delegates had 2 leaders which could, at times, be a disruption. Wonderfully though, this group was well balanced and able to trouble-shoot, adapt, and combine their skills to survive our training.
Good job and great work!
