Fisheries High School Students toured NSTC
On July 6, a day before Vega Festival, hot humid weather has continued here in Kitakyushu. It had been unstable weather with torrential rain over last weekend, but it was perfect weather for touring our facility today and 17 students of Fukuoka Prefectural Suisan Marine Studies High School toured NSTC and Nissui Pioneer Exhibition.
The students visited NSTC’s pool training facility to watch demonstration of Helicopter Underwater Escape Training (HUET) and lifeboat facility followed by some study about history of NISSUI and finally the Nissui Pioneer Exhibition.
Some of the students have their breath taken away while witnessed our staff sinking and capsized inside the HUET simulator during the demonstration. When the staff successfully escaped from the simulator, however, they welcomed the survivor with applause.
Touring the lifeboat facility was under the blazing sun. Some of the students may work on ship in the future and some may work on maintenance of the lifeboat of their future workplace, on the ship. I hope it was great experience for them to have a close look at the lifeboat.
As I sent off their back of youngsters, I dreamt forward that they would understand why there were training center like NSTC existing and that they will gain awareness of the emergency response training when they will work offshore related business in the future.
We will keep improving our quality of training so that we will be able to receive them as training delegates again in near future.
