Big chill hitting Kitakyushu during OPITO Approved BOSIET course, from January 25 to 27
On January 24 and 25, big big chill hit across Kyushu. Water pipe has been frozen up and burst to been cut off the water supply, become snowbound traffic and fallen into chaos as most of people live in Kyushu are not used to encounter this type of chill.
In untimely moment, there has been OPITO approved BOSIET course held at NSTC from January 25 to 27. If the center assess the risk and has judged safe to conduct the training, there would be no reason to call off the training even the temperature become below -3degree.
On Monday morning, it was snowstorm, but training staff arrange the training ground available for the training. In the afternoon, there was few snow as the firefighting training could be safely conducted.

The initial firefighting training ground is now available in the afternoon.
In our training in NSTC, we discuss about the importance of permanent preparation against emergency situation. The response to snowstorm would be same, be prepared and have no regret. We would like to make further use of the response we taken this time for our future training in wintertime.
