Attended an OPITO organized international conference.
The conference was held from November 15th to the 17th in the capital city of Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur.
It was a sudden change in temperature, with Japan which suddenly became cold and Malaysia which was surprisingly hot, over 25 degrees.
For 3 days the heat was the main thought of all the delegates.
Now, I will give an outline of the conference.
11/15 ODF (OPITO DEVELOPMENT FORUM) meeting.
Approximately 100 people gathered from varying countries’ training centers and the Petroleum Industry Associations to present and discuss “safe workplace” and “safe training“.
I was deeply moved by the ambition to create a safe environment that every company.
11/16 This was the largest OSCC (OPITO SAFETY & COMPETENCE CONFERENCE),
with presentations by Oil&Gas related people with the theme of “safety” and “ability“.
This year’s key phrase was “Fit for the future”
Industry efforts were announced about employment environments, training provisions, etc. that meet the needs of the times.
It was wonderful to see how the presentations could attract so many people.
There was an exhibition held next to the venue.
I had the opportunity to talk with people from various countries, but I was also very happy that there were more Japanese fans, foreign nationals, who have visited Japan than I had expected.
On the third day, at TPAG (OPITO ASIA PACIFIC TRAINING PROVIDERS ADVISORY GROUP MEETING), there were approximately 50 people gathered from the Asia region OPITO certification centers to discuss and exchange information on current and future efforts.
Improvement proposals from each country were announced and their ideas flew up for quality improvement.
People from Asian region gathered together for an environment that disscuss about “safety” and “quality improvement” and has become a great stimulus.
We will continue to work with all staff in the future so that NSTC will be able to continue training comfortably in a safe environment. Please come in peace with everyone.
