STCW basic training course held in english

STCW basic training course has been held at NSTC as a part of On Board Training Course for Fisheries Crewmen provided by OFCF (Overseas Fishery Cooperation Foundation of Japan). Participants were tenenthusiastic young men, eight of them from Micronesia and two from Papua New Guinea. They have been staying here in Tobata Kitakyushu city since end of August. They have been studying Japanese at the building across the street from us before taken this training course. The trainingwas provided in English. We have one or two trainees from oversea in a training every once in a while, and if they request, the training is provided in English. However this is only occasion so far that we have all training participants are from overseas and taking the training course in English, and only happen once a year.  They will be on Japanese ships with mostly Japanese crew though.  During5days of the training, they have studied basic knowledge and skills for seafarers in categories such as“Personal Safety and Social Responsibilities”, “Proficiency in Personal Survival Techniques”,“Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting”, “Elementary First Aid”, and completed the course without any problem sparkles

Their training continues after five day of training at NSTC, and we sincerely hope they complete all trainings safe and sound, enjoy work safely wherever their work will be.relaxed
